May 31, 2004, Kent, Ohio - Kent Displays Inc. of Kent, Ohio has promoted Dr. Asad Khan to Vice President of Research and Development. Previously, Dr. Khan was Manager of Materials & Process Technology, and Senior Scientist. He will now assume a more active role in the management of Kent Display’s technology development contracts with military and other development partners.

Dr. Khan has served as part of the Kent Displays’ team since 1995. Recognized as an expert in Cholesteric liquid crystalline materials and displays (ChLCD), he has spoken frequently on the development and deployment of successful ChLCD materials and processes around the world.

He holds a B.S. in Physics from The College of Wooster, an M.S. in Physics from Kent State University, and a Ph. D. in Chemical Physics from the Liquid Crystal Institute at Kent State University.
