Kent Displays Licenses its Cholesteric Technology to Fujitsu Frontech.

July 14, 2005, Kent, Ohio - Kent Displays announces that it has licensed its Cholesteric "No Power" LCD Technology to Fujitsu Frontech Limited, of Tokyo, Japan, a leading manufacturer of electronic products. "We are pleased to add Fujitsu Frontech as one of our licensees. For many years they have been a world leader in manufacturing electronic products for industrial and consumer use. We view Fujitsu Frontech’s license as another endorsement of the Cholesteric Technology and our portfolio,” stated Joel C. Domino, President of Kent Displays. Other current licensees of Kent’s Cholesteric portfolio include, Eastman Kodak Company of Rochester, New York; Nanox Corporation of Fukushima-City, Japan; Matsushita (Panasonic) of Osaka, Japan; Varitronix Ltd. of Hong Kong; Light Space Technologies of Norwalk, CT; and Vlyte Corp. of Limerick, Ireland.

As of this date, Kent’s licensable portfolio holds 86 patents, 46 in the United States and 40 in countries such as Japan, China, Great Britain, Korea, Taiwan, Italy, Israel, Germany, Sweden, France and the Netherlands. In addition to those patents already issued, Kent’s portfolio includes numerous pending applications in the United States and the aforementioned countries.
